SUMMARY:Black Lies Matter - Exhibition of Rómulo Santa Rita
DESCRIPTION:Black Lies Matter – Exhibition by Rómulo Santa Rita\nThe latest exhibition in Seixal\, Black Lies Matter\, presents the powerful work of Rómulo Santa Rita—an artist with Portuguese\, Angolan\, and Mozambican heritage\, known for his raw and thought-provoking urban interventions. \nBorn in Lisbon in 1980\, Santa Rita has spent years exploring themes of identity\, migration\, and social justice. His technique\, known as Paper Street Art\, uses unconventional materials like cardboard\, magazines\, and stained books to construct layered compositions that challenge political and cultural narratives. \nAfter years of keeping much of his work private\, Santa Rita’s art is now gaining wider recognition. This exhibition highlights themes of modern slavery\, refugee crises\, and the exploitation of African resources\, forcing us to reflect on the realities faced by marginalized communities. As the artist reminds us through his work\, “We are all responsible for everything in front of everyone.” \nBlack Lies Matter is more than an exhibition—it is a call for awareness and empathy. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with an urgent and deeply moving body of work. \nOpen hours: \nFrom Tuesday to Saturday\, from 10 am to 5 pm.\nFebruary 2nd and 23rd\, March 2nd and 30th and April 6th\, Sunday\, from 10 am to 5 pm. \nInstagram of Rómulo Santa Rita

SUMMARY:Exhibition: "Percurso em Construção" by GAAS Atelier – Graça Antunes and Sara Antunes
DESCRIPTION:As part of the 50th anniversary of the April 25\, 1974\, Revolution\, the Municipality of Seixal reaffirms culture as a public service\, ensuring universal access to artistic creation and enjoyment. It emphasizes the importance of amplifying diverse voices and the transformative power of culture in shaping identity\, sovereignty\, and collective consciousness. The exhibition resonates with values of freedom\, creativity\, and resistance\, essential to the heritage of future generations. \n“Percurso em Construção” by GAAS Atelier\, a collaboration between mother and daughter artists Graça Antunes and Sara Antunes\, showcases a collection of drawings and paintings inspired by their observations and interpretations of the world around them. \nThe artworks represent two generations\, two perspectives\, and two distinct approaches that occasionally intertwine through form\, color\, and line. Both artists view the creation of art as an ongoing process—dependent not only on human input but also on external elements that breathe life into each piece. \nThe works guide viewers through a journey that alternates between calm serenity and passionate intensity\, leaving no one untouched. \nThe exhibition opened on Saturday\, December 7\, 2024\, at 6:30 PM and will run from December 7\, 2024\, to January 25\, 2025. \nVisiting Hours\n\nTuesday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM\nSaturday: 2:30 PM – 8:30 PM
