Acclaimed jazz pianist Fred Hersch will perform at SeixalJazz 2025. With over three decades in music, Hersch is recognized as one of the leading voices in contemporary jazz piano.
A seventeen-time Grammy nominee, Hersch has established himself through his work as a solo artist, trio leader, and composer. He was the first musician to perform weeklong solo piano engagements at New York’s Village Vanguard and has released more than sixty albums as a leader or co-leader.
Hersch’s approach to jazz piano has influenced many current musicians, including former students Brad Mehldau and Ethan Iverson. His performances blend technical skill with melodic interpretation, drawing from both traditional jazz repertoire and his own compositions.
